telescopic steering wheel sc400

i have a 94 sc400 and i read around a lot and just noticed that the steering wheel is supposed to move everytime i start or shut off the car, is this true?

it has only done this when i take of my battery terminal and start the car for the first time =(
the controls work fine btw...

anyone know why?

Yes it's true, Mine does the same thing, But that's because I leave it in the "off" position, I don't want to burn the motors out LOL!

there is a diy on fixing the issue and only requires like 30 mins and a 50 cent washer lol

It can be set either way, if telescope is on it will begin to come out as soon as the key touches the switch and will retract as soon as it is removed. If it is off you can still set the position of the wheel but it won't move on its own. I have mine turned off as its easier for me to get out with the wheel out all the way and I don't want to burn the motor up running the wheel in and out several times a day.
