Default Air Suspension Recommendations

Considering getting an air susp and currently running Tein CSs. Main reason is to be able to raise the car to avoid scraping the bodywork for curbs, dips, etc. Secondary reason maybe to have a nice drop for shows and photoshoots.

Recommendations? There are a few companies out there, but I'm particularly looking for reviews and feedback. Would you buy the same setup again, difficulty while installing, etc

Thanks in advance!

Build your self. Company's like UAS and air runner are way to over priced. Sure you get everything you need but it's entry level air parts. I've built lowriders and mini trucks over the years and I know what air suspension parts are worth and what they really should cost. Enough *****ing though. Here are a few links to help you out.

Thought about air long and hard but in the end decided against it. Dont want to give up handling and ride just to drop. I am considering air cups on coils to have it all.

ScottUR & 313SC,

Thanks for your replies. Don't want to loose the Teins. What are "air cups"? I've heard a few terms running around, referring to the bags, cups, canovers, etc. Honestly...somewhat confusing. Not opposed to building a setup from scratch if the quality meets/exceeds what others are putting out. (Would need guidance with this option though) Do the "bags" get holes in them often (like cv boots)? Considering putting this setup in the spare wheel well, so would need a tank that can fit there and try to cram as much in that space as possible.

I know the comments above were in a shotgun pattern, but it's only 0500 here in Afghanistan. Not fully coherent yet.

The cups replace the springs on your shocks or coilovers so you could have an extra way of adjusting your suspension when you use coilovers. As for an air tank a pancake style air tank is good because it's round, kinda flat and it fits in your spare wheel well. If you search craigslist, eBay or your local mini truck/lowriders forum you can find all of that stuff for cheap.

Not really. Air cups go on the coilover with the spring. They are designed to allow you to use the coilover as normal thus delivering a good handling and ride. Then when you activate them they will lift the car by increasing spring force buy taking up free space in the stroke. Tough to explain, just study this old FS thread, it will explain it better.

I'm also considering air suspension and I'm looking into running train horns as well anyone have any insight as to how big of an air tank I'll need and what sort of pump I'll need.

The train horn kit I'm looking at comes with a 5gal tank and a "quick fill" air pump
