SC300!! Now WHAT???
Hello CL,
Glad to be apart of your forums... I just picked up a 95 sc300 as a daily driver and already have the modbug, I've spent three full days doing research and now I have a few questions. to begin the car has 225k miles. Now I already have a
(1)2000 gs300 vvt-i motor(which im sure is a 2jz),
(2)a twin turbo from a 95 supra and a
(3)W58 gearbox (plus accessories)from a 95 supra.
Does the above 3 components make sense/coordinate with one another (flamesuit on)?
Keep in mind that Im not trying to make this my race car, just a reliable to and from work car with a little pep. Also any recommendations of anything else that I may need. I plan on completely rebuilding the vvt-i motor. Thanks new family.

first off glad to have another sc family member
just to save you some "search more" flame and answer your questions briefly...
yes a 2000 gs300 motor is a 2jz, but its not entirely the same as the one thats in the sc
the twin turbo setup from the supra will not bolt onto either of those heads in the sc or from the gs
you could put the w58 on the sc if you have all of the correct parts.

Thanks for the quick response fellas. So I'm guessing in order to get the car running with the twin turbo, I would need an actual motor from the 95 supra? or a twin turbo made directly for the vvti motor?

welcome to the family lets make life easier for you. you have 3 options now depending on your money situation ill list them from the cheapest to the most expensive 1st you do a head swap as other members are telling you (note it said the cheapest not saying it is cheap) 2nd buy a NA-T turbo kit (but your motor will need to be rebuilt) or 3rd order or find a 2jzte motor which come turbo'd (it will run you about 2g's but its worth it) remeber the amount of miles on your car already is pretty high you either need to swapp or rebuild thats your man thought to deciding on what you would like to do hope i helped keep us posted --MR.LEXTASY--

Geeze a wealth of info on here. Im definitely goin to fart the motor out thats currently in. I'll do research on the complexity of slapping on the gte head... 2jzte motor for 2gs doesnt sound bad because I can do that swap myself, whereas head swapping id have to pay for labor.
Mr. lextasy thanks for the break down
