Default Toyota Soarer keys...

Okay, a thread about a lost oem key inspired me to do this thread...just wondering, Who here has an actual OEM Toyota Soarer key from the factory? And what do they look like? I tried looking 'em up on google, But I couldn't find any...I'm gonna guess that different keys are made for various year model Soarers? We have Soarers owners from outside North America on here, So if you have 'em, Please post pics...Thanks!

And for the life of me, I don't think I've ever seen one.

yeah i do... soarers came with:

Master key (key to everything, pudgy head on it with a gold winged lion embossed in laquer)

Valet Key (a key that can open the doors, and the ignition, but cannot open the boot, glovebox, boot release etc)

Spare Key (just a black key with a toyota logo)

and an extra key with no head on it - just the "thread" part of the key which stays in the service handbook.. i guess to make it easier to copy??

next question back to you - does the SC300 have the little button with the keyhole in it that is next to the drivers knee?

it's a little lock / button that enables and disables the boot release

If I'm not mistaken, You're referring to the rear trunk release button right? Otherwise, Probably not.

Wow! Those look just like the oem '92-'95 keys, Only difference is just replace the Winged lion/Toyota "T" with the Lexus "L"...and the Lexus keys have a little single button on the side that engages/disengages the alarm.

Yes, We do have them...One button releases the gas door and the other releases rear trunk...The key hole in the middle is also a button that can be pressed in to lock the trunk fully so that you cannot open the trunk with a key.

It's a key hole that doubles as a button (When pressed in) so that even with the key, The trunk (boot) cannot be opened...unless the master key is used to unlock that button.

Is it different for you Soarer owners?

The Soarer keys are identical to the SC keys of the same production year.
  • 1 switch integrated into the Master Key
  • 2 piece set with the wireless switches on a separate piece
  • 3 switches integrated into the Master Key
