Default New to 6 Disc CD Changer

Really quick question.

Not that it bothers me or anything.

Never had a car that has a 6 Disc CD Changer.

I noticed the Sc300 has this and was wondering if mines work or not.

The 6 Disc CD Changer in the rear lights up the "Eject" button. and I"m able to take the 6 Disc CD Holder out. There's a few CD Disc in there, probably from the previous owner.

When I go and press the "CD" button on the Stereo Console nothing happends.

Is it broken? Defective? Mal-function?

I have plans on upgrading the entire unit to a aftermarket DVD System.

I just need to know if it works or not so when I remove it, I can sell the entire unit or something rather than just junk it.

My Radio and everything else works.

I would think if you press the "CD" button, it will transfer over to CD mode and load a disc then play it. But this isn't the case.

Any input will help alot. My first time owning a 6 Disc CD Changer and is Clueless if it's working or not. No big deal it if doesn't.

Thanks
Jase

The sliding door on the unit? Yes I did.

I think it might be defective. Not really sure how to tell though. If the "CD" button when push doesn't change over, I assume it's defective.

Any more comments/inputs welcome.

Lol sry I dunno then. I remember I always had problem's with the 12 disc changer on my old SC, but I always got it working again after playing around with it. It went from dead to alive a few times lol.
Almost seems like the unit itself is unplugged? Try unscrewing it from the mounting bracket, lifting it out and looking underneath. If that's all good then its probably dead. These things were never the most reliable..

Oh wow. Correct me if I'm wrong...

When you press the "CD" button on the Stereo Console, it should change over to CD to the least right? And somewhat trys to load the disc..?

If this is the case, I think my unit took a dump. Cause nothing nothings when you press the "CD" button.

Just want to know if it's really dead or it's not working to some degree lol. I like selling my old parts when I"m upgrading to new ones.

I just recently welded on a new CAT to pass smog on the SC300 I purchased. Bought the new CAT for $40, welded it on for free myself. Sold the old CAT to some people that comes by the shop to take it and they handed me $80 dollars. I'm thinking they take to go get it recycled for roughly $160-$200+.
