^Hahaha, hilarious! (And kinda true...)^
But I agree with the later posts - it does sound like a decent deal, but also a headache. If quality Soarers are so cheap over there, then I would definitely hold out for a nicer one and spend another $500-1000, which you would easily have put into this car anyway, and not have to deal with all the headaches and issues.

If they are so cheap and readily available it should be easy to find some and post it ---------right??????
This soarer is a steal as long as it has no major issues.
Let a mechanic check out the engine and go from there----really cant go wrong

Any pics of this car or is it another one of these 'mythical soarers' that we hear about but never really see much of?
lol what proof do I need-----something more than just hearsay.
My question to you is,
where can 'I' find a vvt turbo soarer with low mileage and modded out for $2000.00, cause i want to go buy one or more of them.
thanks

guys, guys, great comments, great arguments. Relapser speaks the truth "ya'll". Sorry I took so long to come back, but was sick as hell.
Just a little background from me. I lived in Okinawa from 2002-2006, left and came back last year. I work as a civilian for the US Air Force, so i'm here like if I was in the military, only difference I don't have to put up with the military crap.
A lot of times you can buy dirt cheap cars because of a military member having to leave the island and has to sell the car before they leave, otherwise they have to give it away or junk it, it can not be under their name when they board that plane.
Some other times, the car may have some minor mechanical problem like maybe a tensioner pulley, alternator, etc...and the member can not fix it themselves and refuses to pay a shop ¥50,000 yen for the repair, so they sell the car dirt cheap or give it awy.
As you can see, there are many reasons, to include the ones mentioned on this thread, as to why cars sell cheap here in Japan.
So, today I bought the Soarer and I can't wait to start cleaning her up. I will need a few more parts than I expected (interior parts), but that's cool. The car cost me $1300 + a futton mattress. lol
I will post some pics of her today and hopefully in a week you'll can see some progress as I transfor this ugly duckling into something more respectable.
I appreciate all the comments and look forward to posting again in this great community.
Peace!
