Default Help! Cruise inop after 99/00 steering wheel swap w/pics

Ok I bought this pile of junk and have been chasing problems left and right as far as small problems go so needless to say there have been some hacks working on this car as I have had to replace almost everything in the interior so now I am on to the cruise cont that is inop due to the steering wheel swap ( I assume) so since I have never done a wheel swap on a sc could the guys who have please take a look and give me your opinion as to what it may be or at least a point in the right direction?

I am thinking maybe it is the cruise cont stalk as I know you are supposed to change that however I can't really tell if has been or not?

I get no cruise even powering on or a light on in the cluster.

On to the pics.......

When I did the 99 wheel swap my cruise stopped working. Noticed there was 1 wire pinned differently between the 94 and 99 cruise control. I swapped my 94 cruise assembly into the 99 wheel and all is working now.
Try swapping the cruise assembly between the two wheels and see if that works for you.

Use your original harness and cruise control. When I swapped to SC430 wheel/RX bag I reused my stock harness because the connectors did not match up. I had to cut off the ground and ground it to the new wheel.

I also had an extra connector In my original wheel. No clue what it's for, maybe Lexus was planning to offer audio controls on the wheel

I swapped my cruise control module off the 94/95 wheel that was originally on my car on to the either 90-94 or 96+ wheel that I bought from another member (not sure on year, but wiring harness was different).

Yea the loom is smashed and burnt from what I would assume would have been a bag deployment on whatever car the previous owner got the wheel from however there is nothing wrong with the wires in side of it as I already inspected it.

I don't have a stock cc assy as this is how the car came to me so I guess I need to look for the proper cruise assy?
This is on a 97 and I know where one is in the salvage yard but it is a 93 so big question is will that work with my 97?

Anybody have one for sale here?

I don't think so. My cruise blinked when it had the wrong one. The connectors are the same just the wiring colors were different.

I can send my other one that came with the wheel if you pay for shipping.

I'm not really sure to be honest. It came off a steering wheel I bought. Is your cruise light blinking at all?

It's most likely the controls for the optional Lexus car phone.
