Default carbon fiber hood

For those who has carbon fiber hood, do you have the hood shocks install or not? My hood seems to sit kinda high where all the pressure of the hood shock is. It like 1/4 in. higher than the fender. I read from seibon carbon fiber site stating "Please note that Seibon Carbon does not suggest re-installing OEM gas hood shocks."

Hood shocks or no hood shocks?

Maybe use hood pins?

I use blown shocks for my trunk if that helps

Hood pins wouldn't do any good.. The hood close tight in the front, it is the sides (middle section) where the shocks are is giving me the 1/4 gap.
Did the trunk close and alignment perfectly with the car?
Are you using a stick to hold up your trunk?

Ah gotcha. No, I don't need a stick. The blown shocks have enough force to hold up the trunk. If anything it slowly comes down sometimes, but that's only if I don't open the trunk all the way.

After lots of trial and error, I decide to with only one blown shock. I was insanely surprise it held up just by one blown shock.

No shocks on mine. Did the same thing, forced the hood up at the shock mounts.

I would recommend really low pressure shocks or blow shocks, use a hood prop. I've seen perfect fitting hoods on the G35 and 350Z warp over time from high pressure OEM shocks and from the Tein hood shocks. Best to be on the safe side.

Also, we sell the aerocatch hood pins, now with the carbon fiber pattern. I have all styles in stock.
