so far I think I have about $3000 but I've been buy part's for about a year make's it easier when you don't see the cost all at one time

And also I won't be changing out the water pump or seals because this engine has almost no wear and the pump looks like new. Also I know for a fact that this engine probally won't stay in the engine bay for long because I'm always planning some thing new and I'm sure that in a year from now I could be pulling the motor to do a big single or a 1.5jz build or what ever come's next. I just can't help my self and I have some very competitive friends who keep me motivated

I guess that all I have till next week but the coming month should turn up more photo's of all my new shiny parts and a engine install

The patch harness would be from the engine harness to the ecu which should be the only thing that should be extended. Ive now decided to do this my self because I do have alot of experience with automotive wiring and could use the money to buy other parts

The body plugs wires which run to the engine bay such as oil pressure, level, a/c etc. also need to be extended.

here a helpfull link https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...00-thread.html

The only wiring that has to be done If your doing this you self is to extend the five plugs to the ecu on the engine harness about 20" give or take. Or you can extend the five plugs from the ecu to chassis 20" give or take. Other than that the only other wiring would involve extending the wiring for the power steering rack and the heater control. Ive also seen In other post that when doing the mods to the engine harness that you should not do all your lengthening in one spot to keep the engine harness from bluking up and that you should also completely rerun new knock sensor cable here a help full link for that thanks to ryanvhttps://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-heavy-18.html I really didnt want to touch on the wiring for this swap because there are so many different opinions and so much out there as far as wiring goes It will make you head spin. I'm also going to post up a compiled list of links I have on this swap to further help others

Not accurate.

The difference in length is along the firewall in the engine bay. This means all the wires from the engine bay past the firewall need extending (with the exception of the heat VSV). The only wires that do not are the body plugs to the ECU.

The knock sensor wires can be extended past the shield although replacing the whole wire is more ideal

wow your right sorry kinda feel stupid that I messed that one up. you will still have to extend the wires to the junction box and use the patch harness to fit the ecu in stock location. But the way I see it how hard is it to extend the 56 wire for the junction box

im tryin to make a patch harness for mine too. i grabbed the female ecu plug from a early 1uzfe or 1mz-fe ecu. they have the same ecu plugs as the 1jz-gte ECU.

and i also cut the wires as long as i could get and now im just tryin to solder the wires to the pins. that way i dont have to cut the ecu wires.

Well Guys it's time for me to show you what I've been up too

Getting ready to pull the motor

ready to go in

my dad brother and me work as a team to get the old motor out

almost out

Old leaky v8

Getting ready to clean engine bay

In with the new

I then went to town running the extended wiring through the fire wall doing the 12volt mod on the fuel computer and hook up the intercooler kit from cx racing and to my suprise I have a running 1jz swap. no leaks and every works good only one small problem the car has a slight miss once it get's warm. If any one has a idea of what might cause this please let me know other wise I'll keep at it and figure it out eventually
