Sounds like a power steering leak; check the hoses, rack and pump.

either tranny fluid or power steering ---i really dont think it can be anything else---forgive me if im wrong.

Have u been checking your tranny fluid level?

U can narrow it down right there.

Depending on the color of your coolant it could be coolant... Did you get under the car with a flashlight and take a look around?

Next time you might want to mention your car's year and model: 92 SC400

i haven't checked the tranny fluid. the puddle only appears after driving. I filled the coolant reservoir with green antifreeze. I'm taking it to be checked out tomorrow morning. power steering pump would be cheaper than tranny to fix.

more than likely it would not be a tranny problem but a line problem of sort.

My tranny actually leaks a very little amount of fluid through one of the lines, its not that big of a deal as long as u keep an eye on your leveels from time to time.

Probably tranny fluid. If it's your PS pump, I had one poop out on me about a year ago in my old SC. Don't remember the exact price but I know they wanted over $700 at a local shop to repair it. Ended up doing it myself.

I had a problem like that about a month ago. It turned out to be the high pressure fan oil line. Check the fan oil level and check the two lines that go to the fan. Mine actually was leaking so bad it froze up thehydralic fan clutch and snapped the serpentine belt. Get it checked out asap.

car is at the shop this am. I'll know soon what it may be. I am not that mechanically inclined, but I guess now would be a good time to learn.

Most likely power steering since the car shifts fine, and the power steering calls for auto transmission fluid anyway. Maybe it overflowed? Pics?

You are getting out fairly cheap compared to a power steering pump. Does that price include a fluid and filter change ? You might as well do it while they're in there.

If it's not too bad, you could always just let it go; $170 buys a LOT of tranny fluid.
