How do you get that Front Main Seal seated right? What do you use to get it in?

Obviously I did it wrong cause I had oil pouring out under the Crankpulley while the car was running.

dont put lube on the seal bc it will leak. use hand soap diluted with water if you need to ( you shouldnt) and tap it in equally with a socket. the reason you should use soap and water is bc once it drys the seal will (seal) it you use oil it will leak again

make sure to replace your pcv valve or else if it is clogged you will just blow your front and rear main seals.

God I just went through the same B S with mine, you just have to be very careful because the slightest dent in it it will leak so don't tap to hard.

First off the correct way if you dont have a deep *** socket would be to purchase a seal press kit, but if not,

Make sure everything is kinda warm(I used hairdryer), if its cold out it will be harder. Put some oil on the inside of the gasket that goes over crankshaft, and if u must you can add a little rtv to the outside to help slide it in.

Use the old gasket to put over the new one to tap on with a socket extention, just dont do it too hard. I usually get the bottom in first and work your way around.

If you don't have a properly sized socket, many times a seal can be installed by tapping in using a short piece of pipe (pvc, abs, etc.) or pipe fittings (coupling, reducer, etc.) with a nice square cut on the end and then sanded smooth (no jagged end against the seal). This can be useful too, as you can gauge whether you are driving it in straight by looking at how perpendicular the pipe section is in relation to the block.
