Miles on half a tank...
#48
I do 100% city driving, and I consistently get 23-24 MPG. For half a tank (10 gallons), that would be about 240 miles. My gas gauge is inaccurate, reads a quarter full when I have almost half a tank left. I have driven as far as 425 miles on a tank, and it only took 18 gallons, so I had another two gallons left.

Just something that I would like to toss in... after installing the rear roof visor on my SC300, my mpg dropped from 23 to 22. I averaged 23 on every fill-up that I can remember (calculated via miles traveled vs. gas pumped into a full-tank position). I have verified this drop on my last two or trips to the gas pump.

92 SC400 with approx 225k miles. Totally stock.
200 + miles at half a tank. Usually can go a little over 400 miles to a tank.
Highest MPG I've gotten is 25.6 mpg with it being 90% hwy.
My aveage with city/hwy is 22-23 mpg. I run 89 octane.
Both SC300's I've had before, with VVT-i did not do much, if any better on mileage.

I forget to mention that with hypermiling techniques, like turning the engine off at red lites, I was able to get 27.5 MPG in town. Too much trouble for me to do all the time. I am satisfied with 23.

I have a 92 sc400 and I have a pre cat attached to three inch piping all the way back and I'm getting more than 200. Guess I'm lucky? Make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks and check the air in your tires. I checked these two things and gained about 50 more miles
