Miles on half a tank...

I'm pretty sure it is running rich as I need to have the O2 sensors checked and probably replaced.
First off is the steering, hopefully I can get that fixed within the next week or so.

I get ususally around 185 to the half way mark by my needle. From full tank to empty, around 325-335. Thats with mixed driving. I wonder if having an open exhaust, K and N filter, and a BFI helps?
Of course it does!

i get about 250 in my 93 sc4, but i have a toasted wheel bearing i need to replace and both cats are so clogged it blew the flange and now i have an exhaust leak in front of the right cat. apparently 2.25" efi cats have to be special ordered here -_-. does anyone know if a tank swap has been done? i want to get a 12 gallon fuel cell because i never fill up past half anyways and i could use the room in my trunk.

Yikes! Some of you are getting some really bad mileage. Are your cars modified? If I was getting that kind of mileage, I'd have someone check it out for sure. I have a '99 SC400 and so far, I've always seen 200 miles at the half way point. I average 400 miles per tank, but about 80% of that is highway miles, which does make a difference. Also, it sounds silly, but some have seen their MPG greatly increase after having the gas cap replaced, but I think that would apply only if you don't often drive you car. Might want to search that here on the boards.

Rather than worry about how many miles to the tank you get. Figure out the MPG.
At 1/2 tank fill it to full
set the trip meter to 0.0,
drive to haflway
fill it up to full
divide the trip meter mileage by the numbers of gallons it takes to fill it up
I get 22mpg in both the 1JZ and the 2JZ.

ok so i dont down on no one for starting new threads. to me the only stupid question is one that isnt asked....
BUT...
i think thsi thread would be more helpful with a percentage listed of highway/city driving. it would also help if ppl mention like on a scale from 1-5 how hard they drive there cars. last, the most helpful thing is the octane rating used. i know the car specifies to only use premium but i have heard atleast 6 ppl say they use medium grade and i have also personally met some ppl that use the cheapest gas in there sc's. this makes a difference.
quick example:
1997 sc400
3 moderate driving
80% highway
93octane ONLY
000 miles to tank... i dont know mine i dnt really pay attention to it since its not my daily.

LOL...As expensive as these cars are to keep up people are concerned with mpg enough to take note? These cars are heavy and old. Just calculate mpg and if you are near the norm call it a day

Bump from the dead!!!
Sorry guys, but in need of answers. I'm getting 240-250 miles for every full tank, I have a '95 SC400, bone stock. Is that normal or shouldn't I be getting more out of it?? I just did my fuel filter, I am yet to find out how much more it would give me, hopefully it ads more. I drive like a granpa, and need some answers to know what else I need to fix. And oh yeah, my SC drives fine, nothing out of the ordinary, so I'm thinking I just need to do some tuning to make it right. I average 14-15mpg.
Oh yeah, 50/50 city/freeway. And found this some time ago, but haven't completely done it, does it help for MPG??
