Default Sc400 Tach issue 2jzgte swaped..

So a buddy of mine has a sc400 with a 2jzgte swap done... for someone reason we cant get the tach to work properly... We did exactly what everyone does on the sc300 tach, which is to jump the r109 resistor if i can recall.. we did that with his 2 gauge clusters he has from a sc400 and its not working well.... is their a salutation to this issue? or does the sc400 have different resistor to jump?

You need to use a tach adaptor. The Dakota digital one works for me

Do this get SC300 Cluster and jump the resistor behind that say R109 just use a wire tie into the resistor from the left to the right.
You can do the same with the SC4 cluster but the RPM won't match the RPM will be off.
So SC3 cluster and just the resistor R109 so tie a wire the one side of the resistor where it solder to the board to the other side and you are done.

Run a dedicated wire from the ignitor directly to the tach wire behind the cluster to see if that works.

I think it would be easier if you found a cluster from a sc3 and just jump that resistor.

exactly so if you want it to work properly you will to use an sc300 cluster.
right now your tach is off about 1k rpm.

I am thinking finding an sc300 cluster will be the easiest way, but ........

He could source a cluster from a Soarer. It would retain the kph read and they are digital to boot. I see them on ebay every occasionally.

I ran a Dakota digital tach adaptor on my sc400. I tried the mad but couldn't get it to work right. From what I was told the 300 and 400 clusters are different
