Default Previa SC on the 1UZ

I tried searching.. not much in terms of this ever being discussed.

The Previa supercharger, though small, looks like a very easy addition to a 1UZ, without having to undertake extensive modifications such as that on the Eaton SC. Has anyone attempted this? I'd love to have a little extra punch out of my 1UZ, even if it is only used as a daily driver...

Ehh, nevermind. Google confirmed my worst fears, that a SC14 (Previa) supercharger would suck donkey ***** considering the wrok involved. What I am really after is a Eaton on the cheap, which is evidently almost an impossibility.

If you want boost fairly cheap and easy I'd say go Vortech.

But I am biased.

Well I've spent more than I can remember.

For a simple setup....

Used head unit on eBay - I spent $900
The fish bracket from Lextreme - I spent $100
Battery re-locate - spent maybe $100
Electric fans - I spent maybe $50
LS400 fan bracket - been awhile but I think around $100

There is always going to be misc stuff - oil lines, spacers/washers/nuts for the mounting the head unit, idler pullies, belts, ect....

Cheaper than most of the alternatives.

what about tuning? I am having a difficult time believing the stock ecu is smart enough for that.

You guys probably won't believe this but there's a Previa in South Florida with a 2J in it. The next time I see him, I'm going to take some pics and post them up for you guys! It's the craziest thing that you'll probably ever see.

I am using a MaftPro for fuel control only and have been for two+ years. No timing control. I'm about to go full stand alone.

But I think the stock ECU is smarter than most people think. Its been said that the stock ECU and an FMU can get 7-8 psi no problem.

I do because i think i know him, if not then there are two. didn't happen to catch his name, is it Sean?

Ive seen the stock 1uz ecu deal with 15psi with a safc and 7m injectors helping out.
