Racer
Part of me is glad they didn't fix their mistake from GT4 because a Soarer with an R154 and 1JZ is better suited to a racing game compared to an auto SC300. An RSP SC300 came up in the used cars dealer right off the start so I picked it up.
This game is about the physics. Most importantly: turn all the aids to off, the steering type to simulation, the tires to comfort soft, and appreciate the game for what it is -- a driving simulator. It's vastly different from Prologue. They have finally properly simulated driving on the limits of adhesion and it's way too much fun. A driving wheel is mandatory for this time around, the controller deprives you of most of the experience. I find that most aren't patient enough to realize how truly great GT5 is. You really have to put an effort into driving realistically to yield good results.
The game isn't without it's flaws, but what it offers in terms of driving itself should keep me busy for years to come.
KingpiN.SC, you bring up a good point. From a design standpoint it lacks the polish a game with 6 years development time should have, but nobody at Polyphony would have anticipated in 2008 that the final version would release this late. It's a little disappointing but understandable.
I lined up on midnight to buy the game and I'm glad I did.
One last thing, the menu music is great as always.

im thinking theyre going to have to implement alot of tweaks through down loadable content in order to get it where it should be. thankfully games can take advantage of this now.

Finally found the 97 sc3.. haha. Upgraded it quite a bit and unfortunately, I am not thrilled with it. The handling leaves a LOT to be desired, and with the full weight reduction and over 500hp, it isn't as fast as I had though it would be. Still gonna use it though ;D hahah.
1UZ-GS - If you were referring to me, thanks! haha I really LOVE the car, and am going to treat her right. I saw how many people wanted her and was shocked that I actually snatched her up first! lol. Phuong is a really good guy too. Couldn't have found a better car for the amount spent.

Rented it then returned it the next day, really wasn't worth $60 bucks when forza 3 is out. Plus I play LFS which IMO is a better driving simulator then gran turismo. Plus only reason I was getting it was the hopes for High quality SC instead I get the same SC I saw in gt4. Hopefully GT6 is more promising.

What the SC300 looks like in GT5
I was curious so I had to buy the game.
So just in case some of you were curious as to what it looks like here it is

If you leave it on small view you get an idea of picture quality.
Expanded view somewhat less quality.

Life imitates art for me with GT5. I was saving for a Ferrari, but ended up buying an SC and putting too much money into it only for it to not be as fast as I wanted.
I got the Soarer 2.5 GT and I put about 150k into it and it now has 600 hp and can run with the supercars in the supercar races.
This game is awesome, best driving game ever (in case you didn't know that GT was the best driving game already).
