What did you do to your SC today?

I've got a 2001 GS430 but there's this lovely SC400 a few blocks from my house. It's been there for a long time. Everyone scared of V8 gas prices... Maybe? But to me this is a gem waiting to be polished up. If nobody buys it by late June, this will be my summer toy. Would love to get into the SC community. Here's pics of it. What do you guys think?

Looks fairly clean. The tail lights have been replaced; looks like the infamous "ebay" versions. Not sure if that was a cosmetic decision or a cheap fix after being rear ended. The side blinkers are updates as well being clear and not the stock amber color.
Mileage and maintenance history will be key unless you plan to do a top to bottom rebuild.
Appears to be a 92-95 model so you should be able to acquire it for less than $5K.
Keep us posted if you get your hands on it......

New shoes
My 1998 SC300 has been undergoing constant renewal since I bought it a little over a year ago. This week it was time for some new shoes for my baby. Newly outfitted with Pirelli P7s all round it rolls down the road like a dream.
While I have only driven a few miles since installation, and only in town, the new mpg is blowing me away! Old tires were 215/60/16 and new are 225/55/16. I was expecting a slight decrease in gas mileage - but not so, it now is getting 24.5mpg around town. That's up 3 mpg! Can't wait to take it on the interstate and see if it will break 30mpg.

Oh heck no. I only drive it to work on Fridays. Though gas prices are low, it's not ideal due to the distance from my house to office (35 miles). I have a 2008 Honda Fit as the daily which has been a very reliable vehicle. I've owned it for 8 years with zero issues, unlike the SC which is from the depths of hell.

I replaced the radiator on my 93 SC400 at about 320k. The radiator looked terrible...it was a real pain in the butt to bleed the system. Also, since the hydraulic fan cooling lines were stiff from many years and even more miles of wear that if I removed them, they would have snapped and I didn't have new ones handy so I had to replace the radiator without removing the fan shroud and assy. It was quite a fun time. Lol.

Admired the black interior swap. Waiting for seats, headliner and misc plastic parts that broke from being brittle during install.
