Cost of 300-350hp NA-T Kit? Estimate? Help!!
What do you guys think is the price of a NA-T kit that will run 300-350 hp , on 2jzge , sc300
I am looking to achieve this speed but I am on a budget so let me know how much you guys think this will cost me!
Should i buy a kit or shop around and buy the parts separate, turbo, wastegate, manifold etcc
Thanks!

It depends on if u install it or pay to have it done. If u install it id say to just piece a kit together urself if not id just let whoever is intalling it recomend u one. My estimate is 2000 self installed if u can weld and professionally tuned and 5000+ if its shop installed

a 1jz swap is a good choice if youre just looking for about that power and can be had for 1500 or less
but if you would want to go over your 2k budget a gte swap does run close to 5k
the bargain turbo kits do run about 1500 and can handle that kind of power reliably as some have shown, but they are definitely “iffy”. But you have to factor in the cost of installation, if you don’t have the equipment or know how, and also you need to get a professional tune. You will also need some kind of fuel management. All said in done if you do the install yourself it will be a little over 2k.

$2k is a good estimate, but check the CL classifieds section and on club NA-T. You can piece things together if you're patient and save yourself a lot of money. I've seen people build entire turbo kits including intercoolers for around $1,200!Of course that doesn't include a professional tune or fuel management.

I pieced my first na-t kit together for less than $2k, and was daily driven @ 9psi stock fuel and compression with no issues.
Bottom line comes down to what kind of parts you use, and how well you can tune, or your local tuner can tune it. Also you can keep the cost down if you know how to use a wrench and have some inclination of trouble-shooting/problem solving skills to piece the puzzle together.

Like these guys are saying, budget for around 2500 for parts, dont forget to replace some old maintenance parts while doing the build. Install will depend on your abilities... if you're asking basic questions about NA-T kits then you will likely need a shop or a very good friend to do this for you. As for those suggesting a 1jz or 2jz swap as a cheaper route, its not really all that cheap unless you do it yourself. Ive seen shops quote 8k for a turn key 2jz swap. Sure the motor is 1500, but you need to do ALL the maintenance plus you'll quickly want a single... it just adds up from there.

IMO, and this is very novice to this platform but not to turbo car building... A swap is silly. You can build a great, fast car out of the GE and it seems, based on my reading, very reliably. Dont skimp. If you piece a kit together, find a turbo, then build around it. Find some locals that are into the same car and pick their brains. Alot of guys will help with very little encouragement. I always enjoyed helping friends build cars. Im also a professional mechanic and a gearhead.
