thats interesting... have u checked your wires for any shorts or breaks? also possible switch malfunction but very unlikely... ima suggest just changing the parking light fuse with a new one incase the fuse u have now is bad and u cant see it (has happened to me many times)
also are your front parking lights turning on? if not then its most likely the fuse

the fuse for the parking light is in the side panel on the driver side
ull have to move ur carpet and the fuse box is twords the lower front of the car
so its like ur reaching in into the car. its placed very badly in my opion but anyway hopefully u have the fuse cover and it will tell which fuse is to the parking light, im not sure of it off hand but ill be by my car later and post back with the number if i dont hear from you later

Check your tail light failure sensor, its a yellow or black square box located in the trunk near the antenna but more towards the gas tank, you need to pull the gas tank carpet and the left cover i think. (You should be able to find it pretty easily in that area, i cant remember 100% where it is) unplug it and open it up, see if you have a hole in it or it looks burned.

Also make sure you have the correct bulbs, i confused the 1156 and 1157 before and blew out a couple of those sensors. I was having the exact same problem as you, headlights worked, tails didnt but brake lights did. Got pulled over twice, wasnt fun.

did you ever figure out your issue? Im having the same problem...my sensor keeps frying and had to replace it a few times. Is it because the running tail light bulbs? or should i just bypass the sensor completely? does anybody know how to bypass the sensor? Please help

I believe theres a dome fuse in the panel almost the same thing happened to me headlights would work but no taillights or license plate lights ended up being that fuse had blown. Replaced it and haven't had a proble since
