Procedures on testing the brake?

Can somebody post the procedures on how to test the brake system to know if the master cylinder is faulty? I am still waiting on my service manual (order it a month ago).
My Honda manual said something about pump the brake pedal a few times while the engine off and hold it while turn the engine on, if the pedal went down a little more, the booster is working... I wonder if the procedures for the 93 SC400 are the same.
Something is definietly wrong with my brake. It felt very soft when I apply the brake, I already bleed all four caliper with Dot 3 fluid, as far as I know all brake fluid lines and reservor have fresh/clean fluid now, the old brake fluid was very dirty. The brake still feel soft, don't know how to check if the booster, master cylinder or the caliper is faulty...
Any special procedures on bleeding the brake with traction control option?
Any help is appreciate.

Honda manual is correct
The procedure described in your Honda Manual is a standard way to check any master cylinder with powerbrake booster.
Also, the traction control unit has a bleeder (if you take the cover off you'll see it, it's on the passenger side of my SC4) I'm not sure how you can bleed that but it's something to look into...
