A few weeks ago my window controls stopped working altogether. The window and door lock controls wouldn't work at all and when I tried to press the window button it just made a weird small squeal. My car also started locking itself right after I unlocked the door. I bought another master control switch thinking that was my problem because the controls for the side mirrors still worked. But it turned out to be a small broken white wire inside of the rubber sheath of wires going from the dash to the door.

yes, like shibby said, open up the rubber that is around the wires that run from the inside of the car where the kick panel fuse box to the door, start with the driver side

Today I had something weird happen similar, I went to roll the windows down and the only window that was able to roll down was the drivers windows. Rest of the 3 did nothing, no clicks or squeals. And no the window locks weren't on, I ain't that dumb lol. I had this very same thing happen to my 4runner a few months back but everything went back to normal the next day on it's own. Never did figure out what caused that.
