Default Finally doing something about the "silent" lock in the 92-94 SC

So just ordered this:

http://www.kptechnologies.com/products.php#/9

Based on the diagram they provide there's no reason why it shouldn't work.

Looking at this:
http://www.lextreme.com/ls90.pdf

I can probably assume I'll find similar wiring in the SC, just need to look into it. The device is simple, it just uses the lock, unlock, ignition, and 12v wires.

I'd love to figure out how to wire this into the parking lights as well, but it says it needs a relay. It outputs a 200mA signal, just not sure what relay to match up with this to fire the parking lights. Ideas?

Either way getting that nice lexus beep when I lock and double beep when I unlock will be nice- I hate guessing.

I was unsure whether the 99's did or not when I flew down south to buy it. And it did! Nice little modern touch that I love!

Good luck with the mod!

Wow! I never knew that '92-'94 SC's didn't have that audible beep sound...In an ironic twist, '92-'94 SC's have an audible beeping sound on their climate controls, yet the '95-'00 year model SC's don't?

+1 my corner lights, bumper lights, city lights, and fog lights all flash when I arm or disarm my alarm along with a single chirp for lock and triple chirp for unlock.

And with the remote start, all of the above lights turn on.

I plan on getting a 2-way pager with remote start. I hate that my 93 SC doesn't make a sound when I arm the alarm.

That's all good and well but i'm trying to keep the car as OEM styled as possible. Even if I got an aftermarket alarm I would pick up this unit for the clean OEM style lexus sound rather than the annoying chirp that comes on all of the DEI units. Also not having to have a seperate alarm unit and having it integrated into the key? Nice

Style trying to figure out what relay I would use- do our parking lights take 30amps?

So here's the deal with the 92-94 system.

There is just one button for both lock and unlock functions. If they were seperate no big deal. But right now the only way to know the car even recieved the lock/unlock command is to be close enough to hear the locks work. However, you have no clue if you just locked the car or unlocked the car. Annoying. This module will be able to give you both an auditory and visual (if I can find the right relay) cue that it has in fact locked or unlocked as they updated with the 95+ models.

And yes you should be able to use this as a speaker for an aftermarket alarm, I don't see why not!

Does the 97 not flash? I know 95s do
