CF Vinyl Wrap... any experience with it?
Anybody have any real experience with this or vinyl wrapping in general. The reason I'm asking is because I have my SC with the 97+ front bumped. It needs to be repainted anyway after some damage repair. Well the idea came to me when I was just gonna cover the damaged area in bumper stickers. But, I also wanted to clear the are with the wrap. So I was wondering if anyone has done this and how well it holds up? I just kinda want to get my SC nice again.

It's not too difficult. Just be patient and make sure you have enough material,
heat gun, and an exacto knife. Make sure to order the vinyl with controltac
technology. If you order just any ordinary intermediate vinyl, it will not adhere to
complex curves. Remove any fog lights, grill, emblems that you can for a clean
install. I'd actually recommed installing this with the bumper removed if possible.
3M and Avery vinyls are typically preferred. Good luck and post a pic when you're
done.

being opinionated, I hate the carbon fiber look. unpainted cf looks incomplete, borderline ricer-ish (imo; goes with the whole primer paint thing that ricers do). wrapping with a cf pattern vinyl is worse.
if you are gonna wrap, I would recommend doing something with a design, not a pattern.
This is my opinion, of course.

i have first hand experience and all i can say is take your time doing it. it is very time consuming and also very easy to make a mistake if you try to hurry. cf vinyl is a lot harder to work with than regular vinyl. its thicker and harder to conform to curves. having said that its not impossible to work with as there are even whole cars wrapped in cf vinyl.

A few of my friends have had their whole cars wrapped in CF vinyl. Like others have said it doesn't always conform to curves easily, but it is not impossible to do. I'm not sure how well it holds up since most of my friends use this on their track cars which are stored in the garage most of the year, so they hardly see the sun.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm gonna make sure to get enough material when I do this. It's 3M and will do take pics when I get it done.
I get where you are coming from I just looked at a few cars with it and have a few friends with that just came over it looks good I think just like in resined and cf actually feels the same also. I'll see when I get it.
