Default SC400 Passenger airbag into SC300

How should I make this work? Obviously the two airbags are different. The tan one is from a 1993 SC300.

And the black airbag is from a SC400, not sure of the year I do know its pre 1997 though.

Currently my passenger side airbag harness is in half. My tire ate through it, so in all reality my airbag wouldn't work even if it was plugged in. I am planning on rerouting it, and fixing the harness so its whole again.

What are my options? Should I dye the tan bag black? Or could I cut and splice the connectors? Or would the bag blow in my face?

Thanks.

No one has any suggestions?

I'm starting to wonder if the tan bag I have is a single stage airbag, and if the black one is a stage two. So if I made the connectors matched, (ie; cut and spliced) it still wouldn't be compatible because of the airbag differences?

Anyone?

I personally wouldn't dye it - never looks as good as factory, and usually flakes off after a while. The bag won't blow up in your face if it is disconnected. People don't recommend splicing airbag wiring, but if you solder and do the connections properly you should be ok. Plus, you know right now that your bag won't work if you wreck, so it can't be any worse if this one doesn't work

A 99 SC300 has a 3-spoke steering wheel, the 93 SC400 has a 4-spoke. Or are you talking passenger side?

They are both the same stage if they are pre 99.
