Default HIR headlight bulbs, anyone?

I've been wanting to try these but haven't had a car that uses 9005/6 bulbs.

http://www.hirheadlights.com/

Has anyone here tried them yet? And in general how are SC3/4 headlights? I had a Tacoma and those were some well designed headlights...

A set of 4 HIR's is more than $60, I don't see how that's too cheap? lol

I have them on mine... I did intensive research and decided to put them on mine...

I think it is way better than those fake HID kits... it is next best thing to real HID retrofits...

didnt mean cheap in a monetary sense...cheap as in too lazy to install ballasts and actual hid's..they seems like a waste, almost like Sylvania Silverstars...why would you pay that much for a regular bulb?

They aren't regular bulbs. And I hate Silverstars, they suck, they are expensive and don't last for ****. These HIR bulbs are made by GE and are not just a coated halogen bulb.

so what if GE makes them, my GE microwave sucked and so did the refrigerator so even more of a reason for me to NOT like this HIR idea. And I know they arent just coated halogens, but the bottom line is they still arent HID's..

my point is, why waste the money on these when you can just go with HID's for a tad fraction more, have higher light output, and a longer bulb life, and use less energy?

They cost more than an HID kit. There's no point in using them.

WTH would you spend more than $50 on a pair of halogens?

Just get HIDs from DDM tuning.

It sounds like you're already hell bent on getting these stupid things, so "go ahead" that's what you wanted to hear right?

Yup DDM tuning HID kits are my only choice for HID kits. They have lifetime warranties and cost under $50.00 shipped. Ive owned or installed over 20 sets of them in the last 3 years. All of them still going strong. Ive currently got the 55w ballast with the 35w bulb (44watts of HID light output) and its awesome.
