Default Some problems with 1JZ SC300

Ok I have battled with this car for a little bit now. The situation is this....

One day I drove it to a car meet and it was slow at starting but it did and when it was running it was idling funny. It was going in between 750-2k like idle surge. I shut the car off while i was in the parking lot and it wouldnt start back up like the battery was dead. I got a jump from a buddy and the idle surge stopped but my lights were dim. I got it to the house and didnt drive it until a couple days later. I took it to oreillys and had them hook up the battery tester to it and the battery showed 80% charged and good. I had them test the alternator and it told me that it had a bad diode. I also had them test the starter and it showed good. So i took it back to the house and let her set until today. I drove her about the town today and it started just fine and ran good and showed no signs of a bad alternator. I took the battery cable off while it was running and the idle rpm raised a bit but nothing bad and when i connected the cable again it dropped just a bit. When I turned it off and went into the store and came back to start it again, it clicked numerous times then caught spark and started. When the car was running it was doing the whole idle surge again until i got it back to the house. Im sure its the alternator not charging but idk why its idle surging. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on with this thing? I tried to get you guys a vid of it but it wont start again. Any help regarding this situation will go greatly appreciated.

Thanks again CL

it's your bad alti. if the car doesn't have any of these symptoms when you don't have it hooked up i'd get it swapped asap.

when my alternator was going bad, it would idle high and the AFR would be like 10-11 at idle, not really any surging though.

it's probably the alt. If a diode is bad in the alt. it could leak AC current into the system and screw up with your electronics.
