I've just got the repair manual but i can't find the page to replace the heater control valve. Is there another name for it?

Heater control valve
I don't know another name for it but it should be within the A/C section of the Lexus shop manual. Apologies in advance but if you need a manual in order to know how to replace the heater control valve then you might want to seriously consider having Lexus service do it.
That's assuming we're both talking about the same "object", the water metering valve in line with the heater core and in most Lexii mounted at the top center of the firewall just behind the engine ??
I class the job as about as simple as repairing a garden hose...

I've tried looking in the A/C section but it's not there.
I just want to take all the precautions before proceeding on fixing a $300 item. My heater and a/c are working perfectly well. I'm seeing some coolant leakage from the hcv and it's not from the hoses so that's why i want to replace it.
This item is located at the firewall on the passenger side. I see couple of hoses connected to it. I want to know how to take out one of the hoses. The hose is tighten by a metal o-ring and a half a figure 8 lookin' part. I want to know how to take out that part.
Sorry for the rookie question but i've got to start somewhere right?
thanks,

Instructions are not a lot of help but they should be in you 92 SC manual in approximately the same place.

Don't get discouraged!
It's good that you took the initiation to buy the service manuals and consult them when necessary. Most people would bring their cars to a mechanic to get their hard earned $$$ ripped off. Replacing heater valve would be a good start and you can replace it yourself. Post if you have questions and, most of the time, someone would be able to help. Post pics too if you have problems describing parts.

Thanks wwest, i've found the page. It's listed as water valve.
Will do a step by step post after i make the change to help any new rookies like myself.
The only difficulty that i see is the removal of the hose clamp. It's not a clip like other areas.

Changed it. Took about 1 hour. Bought it from www.americanlexusparts.com for $280. Comes as a whole assembly.
Hose clamp for the water going out is taken out by twisting the metal rod counterclockwise. The other tricky part is taking out the two screws holding the assembly against the firewall. Used an adjustable extension socket.
This is the kinda of info i needed. A place to buy parts for cheap and confidence support. It's a pretty simple job. Don't know why them repair shops charge $600.
