Color is a bit saturated, but you get the idea. The armrest is a bit more tan than the original, but in normal light it's very difficult to tell.
I didnt know you sold the 99, but the wood trim on this looks good.. Was this an OEM armrest?

Yeah, I sold it a few weeks ago and put part of the proceeds towards this car. The armrest was actually done by a local upholstery shop using material that matches the new leather on the seats. They did a great job and managed to get the stitching perfect. Overall I'm very pleased with how the door panel turned out.

why did you sell the 99? it is a better platform to build on than this older car, it also had more modern amenities. nonetheless, very nice restore! How do you like your leatherseats.com leather? Personally I perfer the OEM leather if I had the choice.

I loved the my '99 SC400, but it was depreciating quickly due to the amount of mileage I put on it. So I bought a '91 Camry and sold the '99 SC before I lost too much money on it. The '99 SC was for sure a better platform for modification, but honestly I enjoy this older, slower, less modern looking '93 SC just as much.

I'd prefer the OEM leather for sure, but the leatherseats.com kit I would say is very good as far as quality and fitment go. My only complaint would be the slight color mismatch. I did have to add some foam to the seats to get the covers to fit just right, as the factory foam had collapsed a bit and made the new covers fit a bit loose.

Awesome and thanks for sharing and inspiring. After going back and forth between selling or restoring we are leaning toward restoring. This thread helped!

no flak for the investment, you will have a nice new SC, with no car note for many years when you finish!

rock on!

I finally was able to find a full decent set for a couple hundred bucks. Unfortunately, I spent another couple hundred acquiring wood pieces I'm not going to use.

In parts I probably have a little over $4000 between interior and mechanical parts.

Thanks! It's been a long, slow, and somewhat painful project, but I can't wait to have what will be essentially a new SC400. More updates to come in the next few months.
