That is some impressive work! I can't believe a car with such low mileage could be so beat up. Its looking good so far though.

I cant believe they actually let the kids smoke in it, and or whomever with all the burn holes. People sometimes kill me, dont give a crap about anything. I cant seem to understand to have something nice and dont care of it, regardless what it is.. Off of my soap box. It seems to be coming along quite nicely. I cant wait to see it finshed. Glad to see that you are using OEM parts also. How does it ride overall? Still tight? Thanks for sharing and good luck!

Hah, my 99 SC is my car for modding. This one is going to stay all original.

Yeah, the harness must have a break in it as most controls in the driver door don't function. Might be interested in the harness, how much do you want for it?

Once it's back from the body shop I'll post a some good exterior pics.

Fortunately it didn't smell like smoke, so my guess is that it hadn't been smoked in that much, just enough to burn holes in everything. Ride is still very good. Needs new tires and potentially shocks, but mechanically the car is sound and has been well maintained.

Yeah, It's the first time I've ever seen one at a self service yard. I just realized it said CFC on the windshield, which probably stands for Cash For Clunkers.

More pics to come soon, should be back from the body shop tomorrow.

Thanks for all the encouragement!

Hah. Yeah, they didn't see much value in the parts from the car. I got a whole bunch of interior panels and a few exterior trim pieces for $25

Thanks! The engine is one thing I'm glad I don't have to mess around with too much, just a couple maintenance items.

Got the car back from the body shop, so I thought I'd post a couple good pictures of the car and a brief update.

After door/fender repair/refinish. Lower rocker panel was also replaced. The body shop did an excellent job.

A minty fresh headliner installed, no burn holes now.

I found a couple of nice clean seat backs and tightened the elastic band on the netting.

I also managed to find the original window sticker tucked away in the owners manual, an unexpected find for a 17 year old car.

That's all for now. I ordered a bunch of new interior parts that hopefully should arrive soon, then I will be able to start reassembly.

Yeah, they're on my incredibly long list of things left to be done. Along with replacing the front bumper lip.

Very nice. You are definitely going in the correct direction with this build.

Come here to Vegas, there are tons of SCs in the yards.
