Nitto neo gen vs Nankang ns-II
Well im getting ready to buy some tires for my 19's and narrowed it down to two tires and was wondering if anyone had any imput on them. the nitto neo gen's run 134.00 each and the nankang nsII run 105.00. Im thinking about going with the nitto just because its only 30.00 more each.
Which would u guys go with???
There going on 19x9.5 +35 all the way around.
And i was going to order the tires in 245/35/19.
Any thoughs or opinions are aprriciated. thanks

I have the nankang ns2 on my car now.
They aren't the best tires but they have lasted me a long time. When I had my 18s, my front tires lasted over a year. I drove over 20k miles and my car was slammed. I only changed them because my fenders weren't rolled all the way and it was cutting into the tires. So I didn't want to chance it because I was going on a long trip. But I went back with the nankang.
I drive my car alot and I'm broke so tread life is all I really care about. I haven't tried the nitto so I can't comment on that.
If I'm going to the track, I'll get a set of supra tt wheels (or something similar) and put my top performance tires on them.

Ok thanks guys i was definatly leaning towards nitto. But its good to know that the nankangs are holding up. And right now i think i can afford to spend the extra 30.00 per tire so im going to go with the nitto. Thanks for the replies and made my decision easier. Btw im getting my tires from onlinetires.com

i beat the heck out of my nankang ns-2 when I had them and they gripped very well in the summer and pretty good in the rain. they didn't make any whistling noises like some other cheap brands do and the savings were nice.
obviously the nitto is the better choice, but the nankang isn't bad at all.
you may want to consider which ones stretch better. tires do not stretch equally.
I had the 245/35/19 on a 7.5" wheel.
I can only imagine what kind of irregular wear will happen with them on a 2" wider wheel.
I would suggest putting some wider tires (like 275's) in the back.
don't think ive seen a 9.5" rim on all 4 corners of an SC before...
you may want to test fit that front rim and make sure its what you want before you buy tires.

I currently have 245/35 nankang ns2 on my 19x9.5 +24 front and 275/35 on 10.5 +23 rear. The fitment is perfect without stretching. If your car is low like mine, you will rub the inside wheel well when turning with that size and offset. Mine rubs at almost full lock. I'll be running a 10mm spacer with extended studs soon up front.
If I had those wheels, I would run at least 15mm spacers all around. Or maybe a staggered set of 15mm or 20mm front and 20mm or 25mm rear.

Thanks for the heads up ali, i didnt realzie that the 245 was that big of a streach on a 9.5 rim someone told me it wasnt that big of a streach.
Yea i know the rear is still going to be a little sunk running +35 all the way around, but im hoping with a roll i might be able to get a 5mm spacer in the rear to help with the sunken rear rim. i have been surfing the offical wheel and tire thread and a guy got 8.5 wide 19's on the front with no fender mods, so im hoping with a roll and then a harness relocation on the drivers side it should fit.
Thanks for the info on the tire, im definatly going to go with the 275 now and since those are a little more expensive im goign to go with the nankang nsII. Thanks that saved me from the headache of a bigger streach that what i was thinking it was.

I can't comment on the Neo Gen but I have Nitto NT555 on my SC430. On my second set so, obviously I love them. Tread is pretty good, they last about 25K miles and I drive pretty sporty so no disappointment there. However, I've only had Nittos on my SC so I can't really compare it anything in relation to the SC. But I can say that they are pretty excellent. Noise is pretty average, not quiet, but not loud either. They grip really well in rain and dry. NOT SNOW! haha. GL with the choice.
