Default reversing SC300 Seat Cushions

My new to me 1997 SC300 has still nice front leather seats, although the drivers seat is just starting to show a bit of wear. Does anyone know if the actual seat cushions can be removed and swapped with the the other side, in other words, drivers side bottom and back go to the passenger side, and passenger side cushions to drivers seat? If so, how hard or easy? thanks.

Ok thanks, I will go check out the headrest button, that is too bad because it would be a good way to mitigate wear on the leather, those outside portions on the seats that seem to get all the wear would then be on the inside passenger side and get very little wear.

Well I took a moment and looked at those headrest buttons, on my 97 sc300 the headrest adjustment buttons are both on the "drivers side" of the headrest, so maybe Lexus changed that...I may be able to do it after all, if no other problems exist swapping the cushions.

I've taken apart the seats to reupholster but I never swapped the bottom cushions. If i remember correctly, i read somewhere the drivers seat is wider than the passengers

The lower cushions are different. If you look carefully there is a definite left and right side to the lower portions of the seats. The external side sticks out more than the internal side. That is, it has a different curve to it. This was explained to me by someone at leatherseats.com when I had my new covers made. The actual seat frame may be the same but the foam and corresponding leather covers are different.

Ok, I will take a harder look, it is not obvious at first glance that any difference exists, but maybe so. So, I guess the next question is what type of leather product should I be applying to preserve these seats?
