Default look at what i found changing my spark plugs

explains why it felt underpowered wasnt as fast it felt it should be.. i knew i had bad valve cover gaskets but i didnt know it went to spark plug galley.. didn't have anything to such the oil out so when i pulled plugs out it when into the cylinder . yea when i started it it smoked for a while but could definitely tell the power difference after replacing the plugs and the wires.. previous owner was to lazy so he only replaced the three easy ones that you can get to.. if you haven't done this to your sc yet its a long job probably 2 hours your first time but i can do it in 45 mins now

had to mark the vacuum lines

almost there

carbon build up

you can see in the galley all the oil and dirt

I was surprised these where made of some kind of plastic it was very light
didn't have any cracks in them

Mines looked the exact same way when I changed out the plugs! I also went ahead and replaced both valve cover gaskets

Out of curiosity, what year is your SC? Wondering if I can expect the same level of nastiness. Also, how much would a shop charge to do this? I reckon this is a bit over my head.

Bah, that's no oil leak! THIS is an oil leak!

This is what happens when you have so much excessive blowby the PCV can't relieve it.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised too. The engine was actually running OK - no misfires at least.

They wanted 200+ to do mine. Do it yourself. I promise you wont regret it. I did mine (and ive never attempted it before) with some help from a friend and we got it done. It took a few hours, but give yourself time to do it man. I could prolly get it done in 1-2 hours now. Its not too hard.
