Default Can this be done ??

hello...just had a few questions about a conversion that i have been wanting to do for a very long time.....i want to put the IS 300 gauges into my sc but dont know if this is possible...i was looking at my friends IS and the housing around the gauges seem to be much smaller than ours.....so i was thinking that the cluster could be mounted on a black plastic piece or maybe some carbon fiber so that it would fit into the housing of our cluster.......is this possible? what do you think it would cost to do something like this......i also wanted the IS steering wheel and the seats....thanks for all of the help

i know styling is subjective but why would u really want to do that?

the SC is anything but an IS. the gauges are classic and the way it illuminates is the standard for many years by which others were judged upon.
even today, everyone compliments my guages ... still better than most new cars out there.
simple, elegant, class, easy to read and never aging....

My sister has an 02' IS... I personally dont like her gauges... its like they had a competition to see how small they can get it to be??? But then again its different!

i don't think it's worth the troubles. with that money, i'd use it on something worthwhile.

If the styling of the IS means that much to you, get an IS. It would look good parked next to your SC. Turning your SC's interior into something from a lessor car is not a good investment of your time and money. Both the SC gauges and seats are some of the best you can get. I wouldn't change them.

hey scpower,
i'm not against doing it, just that i'd rather put a lot of time and money into something that i know will work. the IS guages are cool, but i don't think i'd put the effort into this. all the wires, the empty space on the cluster, etc etc. if you really really want the IS guages, i have a number of a guy that might have them in stock... used...but works great!

Thumbs up

cool thanks do-luck. if you can send the # on over that would be great...hey strongsail, biting the bullet really has nothing to do with it...if anything doing the IS gauge conversion would be a bit more expensive, just the gauges alone are more than the cluster for our car....and define doing it the "right way"?? just trying to do something different
