Default differences between the vvti and non vvti tranny

hey guys is there any difference between a non vvti and a vvti auto tranny? i just purchased an auto tranny but it came out from a vvti motor will this work on my aristo ? is the heads the ONLY differences with a vvti vs non vvti?

the Ecus are different. what kind of car do you have ?and what kind of car did the tranny came of of ? is it a 4 speed or 5 speed?

ecus? the tranny that i bought came out of a aristo vvti engine..i have a non vvti engine 2jzgte in my lexus..i just want to know what is the difference between a vvti tranny vs a non vvti...or does the vvti has anything to do with the auto trannies?

VVT-I itself has nothing to do with tranny...it just means Variable Valve Timing with intelligence which has to do with engine (intake timing and camshaft). But like quickGS300 said, it all depends on 4 or 5 speed tranny I believe...

the trannys are controled by the ecu so if u have a non vvti engine and transmission from a vvti engine the only way to control it woud be through a full standalone ecu such as an aem

so you guys saying this woldnt work then because my ecu wont control the vvti tranny?

I don't think it will work but don't quote me on that. I would love to try it and see what happen.

my tranny and the vvti tranny looks very identical though

are the sensors the same? even tho they look the same it may not work properly.

Still confused of why this wouldn’t work…I bought this as a spare tranny..it was very mind just a little confused of why the vvti effects the tranny…I thought it was just the head and variable timing as stated above….anyone on this forum ever put a vvti auto tranny to a non vvti engine?

sensor on the tranny are different, it's like replacing a GE tranny with a GTE one that's how i look at it

can i swap out the sensors from my non vvti tranny to the vvti tranny?possible?
