My "new-to-me" SC400
Hey everyone! I'm a newbie here and thought I would introduce myself. I have been into tuner cars for a while now, starting with a Ford Probe (WTF was I thinking?), moving onto a DSM, which I modded and had about 400hp (t3/t4 50 trim setup). I sold that and bought an S13 240sx hatchback which I fell in love with. Painted it midnight purple and black and promptly drove it into a tree 4 days later. That's when my dad told me about a guy selling his SC400 at his work. My dad offered him $1000 and he took it, so I got a Lexus for a grand.
My SC400 has a few quirks, but all 17 year old cars with 200,000 miles do. For one the windows don't go down. The driver side makes a noise but the passenger side won't do anything at all from either switch. Any clue what this could be? Also the body needs a little massaging to get back to looking nice. With a little paint and a nice set of wheels it'll be a sweet DD for a while. Someone sell me a nice set of 18 or 19" wheels!
My plans for it include: Wheels, body work, header-back exhaust system, maybe an SAFC to free up some easy power, and maybe far in the future coilovers and a turbo kit.

Not bad at all for the 1K. You have some work cut out for you.. Just remember to do all the maintenaince first, then go with some mods. I think everyone will agree. Again nice find. I paid 2K for for my 1992 SC400.

Thanks all. If all Chuck Norris could do is bang up my rear quarter, then God must have made this car indestructible, because Chuck Norris can kill anything just by looking at it. I'll probably have to get a new quarter panel welded in and repainted, not looking forward to that bill. That's if I decide to spend money on it. I plan on seafoaming the engine soon, oil change, plugs, wires, working on the electrical gremlins and going from there. If Ford follows through with the 5.0 400hp coyote engine in the 2011 Mustang GT, then I will be picking one of those up and turn my SC into a project car. Did I hear LS7 swap?

Well my brief stint with Lexus has come to an end. This past Saturday I took a 370Z for a test drive and ended up taking it home, trading in the SC400. All in all the Lexus did exactly what I need it to do, get me from point A to point B and I had some fun in it, but I just love my new 370Z.
