Could be. Do a search on here. Its your friend. It seems alot of people have had nothing but trouble out of their changer. Most people have ditched them and went with another headunit with an IPOD cababilty. Check out the audio section and do a search there also. GL.

For the Nak Changer, I had a great bit of luck with a CD Lens Cleaner (with the little brushes at the bottom). My changer went from working at about 20% skipping all the time, not reading burned CD's to about 85-90% where the only thing is that I use quality disks (Riteks specifically, I want to try out some Taiyo Nugens), and that it will resume playing a CD only 50% of the time.

That sounds like how my changer used to be, reading errors on most my burned cds. Now it sometimes won't read actual legit albums. I think these things just turn to garbage after so long. It'll be time to upgrade soon.

The CD changer in the SC is the biggest waste of space/plastic/weight/resources/electricity and whatever else it can possibly be.
don't even bother investing the days it will take for you to take it apart and diagnose the multitude of reasons why it has suddenly stopped working, cause even if you fix it temporarily it will wait until the most opportune time to give you error messages.
Rip it out and enjoy the extra space your tiny trunk now has in the right corner.
just be carefull not to put any fluids that can fall in or around that area.
best option - go after market head unit.
second best option - if you are tight on cash, get an mp3 player and hack the tape player like so https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...aux-input.html
third option - (worst quality) get a tape or FM to mp3 adapter
