Anyone completly removed charcoal canister system?
I've removed my charcoal canister but I have left the line open. Does any of the lines need to be plugged or removed? Will any problems occure in the future because of the removal of this unit?
My state does not have emission check and I don't think I need this canister because I just finish my 1jz swap.

The canister can be removed easily.....but.....the line needs to be plugged in.
However you need to vent the fuel tank somehow.
1- remove the interior of the fuel cap.
or
2- vent the line from the engine compartment somewhere far from the engine.
in conclusion you will smell gas either way .

That's what I hear too, 1jz swap replaces everything. You need nothing.... not even a battery. Starts on good thoughts. Pull the fuel filter while you're at it. .....it's slowing down the fuel rushing to get to the engine!

haha OLT. The truth is that, I wouldn't know how to properly reconnect the canister back to the engine with a 1jz because there is some valves that is control by the computer to allow vacuum through the canister on the 2jz(according to the diagram). I completly discard the original harness in the 1jz and went with a standalone and the loom that it came with. I have taken out all of the vacuum line that is part of emmissions control. I don't know if I'll have any problem in the future because this is my first swap I did on a sc300. Thanks for you input though
