Door nightmare! Please help
Well I thought I just about had it fixed, but I didn't...
Anyways, earlier this month my door handle wouldn't open my door from the outside, scared me a bit cause it broke on my way to a 'date' lol. But I was able to open it from the inside 'phew'.
Now the window also got jammed up. So I searched on here and found out the rod probably just came off, no big deal. I didn't get around to fixing it quite yet.
Yesterday, I could no longer open the door from the inside, crap...
I got a neighbor who is a aircraft mechanic/backyard mechanic to stick a rod down the side of the window to pop the lock.
Today I got the door panel off to see the rod had popped off but was slightly bent. I figured out how it worked for the most part. But I snapped it bending it back, like this...
I was still able to get my finger in there to push the door release. So I shut the door, for some odd reason the door would latch but not completely. I tried getting my finger in there to release the latch, but the part i pushed onto sunk down or something and i couldn't release it. I think the rod had a job of pulling something up as well as pushing down to release.
I also found out the cable for the indoor handle came off the lock mechanism, but i don't have a clue where it connects to.
So now I got a partially shut door, with the interior panel off, with no clue of how i'm going to fix this. So if anyone has some pictures of the mechanism and how it works that would help a ton!
