Dead fan,all buttons on climate control and no LCD readout..suggestions ?
Hi , I have searched "climate control",
Symptoms SC400 1997, no read out on LCD, no fans, no nothing on the unit.
Here are the top items from the forums
a) Power button disconnected
b) run diagnostics- did this and no readout(no response on LCD, dead)
c) low freon ?
Any suggestions ? Its like there is NO juice, but the radio works, its just climate control panel buttons that are not responsive or no readout.
I have searched, just have not come up with anything on Clublexus.
Thanks for any help

Same dead environment controls problem, intermittently
Hi Lex...
I'm seeing the same problem intermittently on the sc300 I just bought -
for 2 days the panel worked when I put the vehicle in park, but would go dead the moment I depressed the shifter button. The following day, flipping the ECT/PWR switch would have the same effect. The next 2 days it worked normally, then the following day, the tranny began to slip in 1st gear and the OD light started sort of flickering intermittently. Yesterday the A/C panel went dead briefly but came back on all by itself and stayed on for the rest of the day. Car has regular service records through 2007.
The vehicle has an Alpine head unit in it - I'll be disassembling the console to get a look at the wires/connections sometime this week - if a visual inspection reveals nothing I'll take meter readings on every connector pin I can access when the thing is operating normally, then collect readings when the thing is dead. Note to self... buy the wiring diagram manual.
If anyone experienced the same or similiar issues I'd be grateful to hear of the outcome, and I'll be sure to post.
Cheers.

No luck with vendor who repairs climate control
Hi
I called Mikado today and their suggestion is that there is a problem with power to the entire module.
They did not think its a LCD issue.
The suggestion....check fuse, check wires.
There was one other person on the internet that had a similar issue, but, he had an aftermarket stereo and the person that wired it did a shoddy job, so it confirmed as a bad install...power lead issue.
In my case, this is the original stereo and my first suspicion is not a power issue.
I will check connectors and fuse anyway this weekend.
Where would I check the fuse location for the climate control ?
Good luck on your problem, I will let you know if I find anything this weekend

I had the same problem, replaced a fuse and it went away. I actually think that it might be a lose connection in the fuse box that was the culprit, and that by moving stuff around i managed to shuffle it back into the right spot.
BTW climate fuse is on the driver's side kickpanel

OLT - I wouldn't have guessed its a fuse problem, but coincidentally I know for a fact my cig socket is dead (power side mirrors too) - I'll check them all first this weekend before I dig into the console and of course post the resolution.
Many thanks for the heads-up. You too QwkSC.

Thanks guys
Was busy repairing the driver seat loose rear corner problem this weekend so I didn't get to the fuse issue BUT
I was driving the vehicle and the AC went off so, remembering what you said I gave the area where the fuse panel is a lil bump with the side of my shoe.
Surprise Surprise - A/C came right on.
I'm thinking it might be wise to check the grounds when I check/swap out the fuses.
Thanks again.
