168k miles. '97 Blk/Blk. Originally purchased at Hendrick Lexus in Charlotte, NC, I bought in 2001 from the original owner and brought it to Atlanta. For the last year, though, we've been in Wilmington, DE. Still looks and drives great for a almost 20 year old daily driver!

Here is a table I lifted from Wikipedia that can be informative . Looks like this info is based on Calendar Year. The annotations in blue are references from which the editors lifted the numbers. Looks like they have lumped the 1991 production with the 1992 that is why the number of production is a lot bigger than sales and technically the Lexus SC model started in 1992. So is the 120 number only for the 1997 calendar year manufactured vehicles ? I still don't know ! Hope one day we will find a more credible source and will find out .

yes you are right they aren't collector status. They are for the SC fanatics. IF the owners of this last year of production do not sell them cheap , hopefully we see them going on higher in value if the demand on them goes higher. At least they now have been inching higher in terms of their prices .

Here is a table I lifted from Wikipedia that can be informative . Looks like this info is based on Calendar Year. The annotations in blue are references from which the editors lifted the numbers. Looks like they have lumped the 1991 production with the 1992 that is why the number of production is a lot bigger than sales and technically the Lexus SC model started in 1992. So is the 120 number only for the 1997 calendar year manufactured vehicles ? I still don't know ! Hope one day we will find a more credible source and will find out .
I'd like to add that I am now the proud new owner, now in California, of bznhornets's 1997 5-speed SC300! VIN ending in 0037798 in the '96 production for '97 models list

A few reasons. Kids are getting bigger. They're not going to fit in that back seat forever. Along with the kids growing up, the amount of stuff we need to tote around on vacation is growing. Also I'm in DE now, so we get snow once in a while. I purchased an X5 M-Sport with AWD. I can put the bike rack on it and a roof rack if necessary. It's got a (small) third row for when we have family come visit from out of town. In short, it was a practical decision.
While the X5 is probably about as fun as it gets for an SUV, my wife's 2006 TL 6-speed will allow me to indulge my need to shift gears once in a while. It's a really fun car to drive with a surprisingly mean growl! Only downside is FWD.

There is a '97 5spd RSP SC300 for sale on Craigslist near me. I won't post the ad due to rules, but here are a few pictures of it. Apparently it hasn't been running in a few years. I am currently trying to get a picture of the VIN sticker.
