SCFAQ: Should I get a sc300 or sc400?

Sc300 Vs Sc400
I am looking at a SC400, I would like an SC300 to do a NA-T but...I am not sure if money will allow or time, so the SC400 seems like the better DD for me. I want to keep it simple, lower it, wheels, system, exhaust, basic things (of course with my past none of this will happen and it will turn into a turbo project ) BUT...ALL SC300 parts fit an SC400 suspension and body wise right?
That's my main question.
Also how fast are SC400's? Say compared to a Mustang GT or something. 4.0 vs 4.6. Do they respond well to bolt ons?

Oh do I wish that my SC400 had a manual transmission. It's the only car that I've owned in the last 15 years without one. I know that you can change the auto out ... but I want to leave her stock ...

The maintenance on a 400 is more than a 300... get an estimate for a 300 and multiply it by 2 for a 400. 300's get better gas mileage for the record, not by much but when premium is almost 4.00gal every gallon counts. They are both great engines, but for mods and ease of finding parts the 300 is th way to go.

I kinda had this dilema but i decided i wanted boost so i went with a 300, i think after i'm done with this though i might try and get a sc400 and convert it to manual.
i'd say if you ever plan on boosting it go with the 300, easier in the long run, if you just want something nice and simple with power for cruising get the 400..
is sc400's maitnence really that much more?? i was kinda wondering this myself.

as far as the maitenance costs go, this isnt true either, it just depends on what you are getting...spark plugs? of course the 400 will be more expensive, timing belt is cheaper on the 400 though. alot of parts (not counting SOME engine parts) are the same...air filter...any suspension parts...

the SC400 has a v8 that accelerates better
the I6 has a little trouble and needs more gas to get to speed.
so since the v8 has "ease" pulling the SC it needs less gas.

As far as I understood, the 1uz got better gas mileage because the 2jz took higher revs to get to the same speed as the sc400. I thought this was simply due to the 2jz not having enough power and torque to carry the weight of the car itself..
Is this not true?
However, I was also under the impression that a 5spd got the best gas-mileage out of all the engine options simply due to it being a manual.

if both engines are in the same condition, the 2jz uses more gas...read all the gas mileage threads and you would know this...

lol, read my post..what was in parenthesis? thats right, engine parts...go figure, learn to read before you post something
and this must make the the 5th person on this post alone that has told you 300 get WORSE gas mileage not better...
wow, maybe you should do more research before you post next time
and xx69xx..i was assuming that people would do their own spark plugs, not take it somewhere, in which case the 400 is more expensive, more of em
EDIT: use your common sense, of course pieces with less parts would be cheaper (rods pistons cams valves)...lol
