Default Post some pics up! Where did you mount your ballast?

As the thread title states, where did you mount the ballasts for your HID kit. I took a look under the hood today scratching my head thinking of a convenient but out of the way place for it. Lets see some creativity!

I have the 1JZ setup, but I'm open to pics from the UZ and 2JZ guys

if you get rid of the stock airbox that frees up some space and there is a little wiggle room by the batt. Thats pretty much where I mounted mine, no pics though. Ill probably relocate them at some point to more discrete locations though.

For the left (pass) side, see the vertical frame rail that's directly to the right of the level for the headlight? I zip tied mine to that, and on the right side, I threw it next to the battery.

That seems like a good option, I'm just worried about moisture getting around it, since I did the BFI mod.

I've seen them mounted on the plastic cover in front of the radiator . . that might be an option too

I put the driver side ballast in between the battery and the fender. The passenger side ballast is between the air box and the headlight. They don't go anywhere, and if I need to remove them it is easy.

If you take the headlight out, directly below each of them is a vertical smooth piece of black metal. it's where the front tie downs mount to the frame. It's not too dirty down there after 16 years so i figured it'd b a good place to mount. cleaned it and mounted the ballasts on with 3M double sided trim adhesive. i can get pics tomorrow if you'd like

edit: just be sure to use conduit if you're going to be up against any pieces of metal or your AC lines

i didn't mount mine as the previous owner had them installed. One was screwed to the underside of my intake box, the other under the driver's side headlight with double sided tape. 3 years, no problems

Those are pretty great locations. I want to get HID fogs and was kind of wondering where everything would go until now. Awesome!
