Default Normal level of wind noise?

I know our SCs are sports cars so they aren't in general going to be as quiet as most other lexus', but hose much wind noise is normal. When I drive my car on the free way at 70-80 mph+, I get wind noise that is starting to bug me. The first place is the driver door. I am very tall so I sit back pretty far and my ear ends up close to the b pillar. It sounds like I can hear wind and other noises where the door opens. I even went to autozone and got some extra rubber seals and ran it along side of the factory rubber to try and make a better seal but I can still hear it. Does anyone else get this? Its not extremely loud and I can only hear it with my radio off. The second sounds like it is coming from the side mirror/tweeter area of the passenger side. I dont know if it is from cross winds on the free way or what but its always that side and always at faster speeds. Im not sure if its just the wind resistance of the mirror or what but I cannot figure it out. Does anyone else get these kind of noises? Neither one is so much of a whistling noise like my window is slightly cracked or something, just a strong wind against my car noise. If this is not normal, how can I fix or diagnose this. I am going dynamat crazy next month on my car and hope to reduce alot of road noise and would like to figure this out as it would probly be more notciable with a quieter cabin. Thanks

I get some wind noise from my sunroof when its closed. What's weird is if I press the button to barely tilt it back, it will quiet it down, and still not leak water. The only downside is that you can't open the sunroof because of the slight tilt. I usually just leave it fully closed as its supposed to be. I get a little bit of noise from the same area you're talking about, nothing worth mentioning though. And not to take away from your post, but its pretty nice to see that the only complaint some folks can come up with on these cars is the wind noise. :P

Haha yeah man thats my only complaint. I love my car. I just didn't know if it was normal and I was just being really picky. I mostly notice it now because I know it's there. I don't know anyone else locally with a sc but ideally I would take a ride in someones elses and compare.

My SC has it also from the drivers door...I think its just the door seal being old and flattened out....I'm gonna replace mine soon anyway so I'll post back and let everyone know if it got rid of the noise or not.

I get the same noises from the doors and sunroof as well. A while ago I was thinking about replacing the weatherstripping on both doors, because my SC is a 95 and the weatherstripping is pretty worn.

There is a fix on this board for the sunroof noise; I just never got around to it. I wish Toyota/Lexus made replacement weatherstripping for our sunroof instead of having to buy the whole assembly, but oh well.

I used to get zero wind noise until the seal on my sunroof went bad. It needs a replacement.
