Wondering if anyone knows about taking the A/C Display apart?
I just want to swap the front plate of the A/C. Basically the black plastic piece with the holes in it for the buttons. Mine's in horrible shape and want to remove it and replace it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You don't have to take it apart, it's glued and the face just pries off. There are some small tabs across the top and bottom that are hard to see and they make a SLIGHT difference on how the face pops off, but generally they don't hold well. NOT the larger tabs that are clearly visible on the "head" of the climate, just the very front face.
PS- it's a PITA to get the glue to release so be prepared to pry HARD. It's not only possible, but likely that you'll break the original face cover so have the other one handy.

Use a wide flat head when prying. I've taken mine apart a couple of times. Very easy.
I noticed that some climate control units have the clear plastic screen on that front cover and some on the part that has the buttons. These are both on Soarer climate controls though.

It's the faceplate I want to change.
I'm going to give it a try tomorrow to try to pry it off.. maybe if I heat it up a bit also, the glue will go a little more soft, along with the hard plastic of the front so it won't snap on me..
What you think?

I forgot to mention, reason for this is because I have a non leaking climate display on this unit, and on the other unit it's leaking, but the faceplate is in a lot better condition..

THEN you do NOT need to pull the face off. There's no reason. Just swap the head.
You don't have your head wrapped around this correctly. Just remove the head, swap the guts in the heads. DONE. 5 minutes.

He is totally not grasping this... FuMo... LOOK AT THE PICTURE! he couldn't be more clear... why try to remove the faceplate with the great chance of snapping it?

1. Looking at the rear of the A/C control unit you can see two small screws which need to be removed
2. The front and the back parts of the A/C control unit may now be separated by inserting a flat screwdriver under the lip between the two sections and gently easing them apart, first the top, holding that open, and then the bottom.
3. There are two connectors linking the back section to the front, one white and one brown (in my case), gently remove these from the front section
