Is it a 92-95, 96-97, or 98-2000 model?

OK, judging from your name i'll take a leap and assume it's a 1997 model, which has the motor that debuted in the 1995 LS, and in the 1996 SC, and is rated at 10hp and 10lbs.ft. more than the '92-95 models, totalling 260hp @ 5300rpm and 270 lbs ft @ 4500 rpm. Properly tuned, this motor will dyno at around 180-190rwhp, give or take a bit. If you're looking for 300rwhp, nitrous is your best bet, a 125shot should do the trick, use a wet system and make sure to use colder plugs, good fuel, inline booster pump (i.e. NOS Mustang inline pump) or upgraded intank pump (i.e. MKIII Turbo pump), an rpm window switch, a Hobbs pressure switch, a bottle warmer, and a purge (not totally necessary, but helps with consistency). Since timing is done through the ECU, you won't be able to retard it without spending some cashish, but you'll be okay at that hp level, just don't go nuts and up the jets. For 300 gross (flywheel) horses, that'll be about 225rwhp on this car, you can do that with bolt-ons. Weapon-R ECU, stock intake tube w/ Peter Scott's BFI setup, stock exhaust rear section with reworked front section (aftermarket straight-thru cans and the small section of piping leading into them will only yield a couple hp, this is totally optional at this level), single-in dual-out large body catalyst, 2.25-2.5" dual piping, synthetics, larger MAF, and some hand porting or extrude honing of the intake plenum, with the ECU tweaked to take advantage of the mods, dual MSD 6AL and dual Crane coils will add a couple hp tops, if you're spraying the ignition upgrades now become mandatory for the 1UZ. Running nice and cool, with decent fuel, and you should be there no problem, you might even find you passed your goal of 300 gross hp. Past 300 rwhp, either send your car to Australia or Japan to be done (stroker, headwork, cams, windage control, and intercooled centrifugal or roots blower - over 500rwhp no problem, potential for a four-digit hp figure), or sell it and turbo an SC3.

A high flow intake, better exhaust and an ECU upgrade will net you about 300 HP. If you want 300 HP at the WHEELS, you'll need intake, ECU, exhaust, port & polish, headers and a MAF upgrade (the MAF on the older models is too small). Maybe cams. Do all this, then put your NOS system on

I wanted 300 at the flywheel.
Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, but I forgot to ask.
If you mean exhaust (only two rear mufflers or whole cat-back ?)
Thanks.

If I were you, I'd sell the 92 and buy a 98 with some intake. That way when you decide to dump just as much engine work into it, instead of a 300hp result, you'll have 400hps. Plus you'll have the sleeker look of the 98+ models. I've been contemplating this route myself, but I just don't have the money for it at this time.

That's pretty much the goal I'm after with my '92,plan on using the stock exhaust with maybe an after market cat eventually, like described earlier, and ditching the stock ones off the manifolds.
So far I've opened up the airbox w/k&n replacement, replaced plugs/wires(stock),and added the Weapon-R ecu.
MadMax,were you going to try and run just the aftermarket cat with additional resonators?
Did that extra timing you and Leo added change the sound of the motor?
