sc400 'thrid' brake light (in wing) inoperative

Hi. My brake light in the rear wing does not come on. I took off the wing, and applied 12v dc to the solder points, and all the way back to the wire harness connector near the trunk hinge - AOK. Then I tested for a 12v signal athe 'near-hinge' connector, no voltage..... Any ideas?
