Finally hit 100,000
My moms 1992 SC400 finally hit 100,000 miles the other day. Now she wants to sell it. Shes had it for as long as I can remember and I am trying to convince her to keep it. She put $5,000 into it at 90,000 miles but that was 3 years ago. My IS300 is almost 10 years newer and has just under 140,000 miles. Someone always asks her how much she wants when its at the dealer for servicing. Its in literally perfect shape, even the leather is like new. Has every option, even the brick cellular phone and I can remember when she used that haha. This was always a second car and just sat in the garage. Should she sell it and if so for how much?

pretty low mileage for a 92. does she have all service records? oil been changed on schedule?
realistically, it will provide a sturdy reliable car worth more than she will likely get for it...92 sc400's are some of the cheapest out of this generation of sc's, even with that low of mileage.
if she does sell it, expect 2500-5000
but you should convince her to keep it(or sell it to me)...ask her what she wants, and then show her its rating vs and sc...every car i looked at the sc gets higher ratings across the board

Maybe its a different story in the States but I'd say if its in the condition you describe it, this is worth way more than $2500. Ask $5500+ and see how it goes. The $3000 SC's are usually the ones with yellow headlights, burnt out gauges, and ripped/cracked leather. When I bought mine condition took priority over year because unless you're looking for 97+ its the same car except for a bumper and tail light revisions.

My guess is about $8,000. I payed 9k for my 1993 SC400 that had 62,000 miles and it was in decent condition. I definitely sounds like an almost mint car that should be sold for a good price.

The car has every service record. It has been serviced at the same dealer since 92. I looked at all the service records earlier and it looks like its been over serviced, if thats possible. It was serviced once at 73,300 miles and the next records is 74,900 but that was almost a year later. My mom even went as far as saving every gas receipt showing that 91 octane was used and every wash and wax that was done on the car. I saw one record that shows the timing belt was done. Is that service necessary? It was an expensive one. She was thinking asking around $8,000 if she sells it. Still trying to convince her to keep it. The car I want is her 98 GS400. It has close to 180,000 miles but has been kept up the same as the SC.
