Question Buying tips? Sc400 98,99,2000

Hi,

I'm looking for info. I have owned two SC's one a 95 sc400. I upgraded to a 97sc400 but missed to boat. I got the new body style but not the the 290hp or the 5 speed transmition. I'm looking at 98,99,2000 cars is their anything I should know before I buy. The only differences I can see is different seats and steering wheel on the 99 and 2000. What other differences if any are their? Any help is welcome!

I want the third time to be the charm!

Damn everyone's looking for 98+.. I shouldn't have let certain deals pass by but it just wasn't the right time =[.

The 5 speed transmission is automatic for the 98+ sc4.

Nope it does not. But it does have auto-tinting inner and outer mirrors...along with heated outers.

I was on the hunt for a '99 or '00 SC400 about two years ago. A '00 model was almost impossible to find (i think they only sold around 350-400 SC400's that year). Most of them were located in CA,FL,TX. I ended up flying to Texas and picking up a '99 SC300 black on black. Good luck with your hunt.

Thumbs up Thank You

WOW!! Great feedback!
I can't believe they stopped production in 2000. Lexus sure scaled back for 99 and 2000. The low mile cars I have found are top dollar. I guess one has to pay for quality and this is no exception. A couple of you suggested sc300 why step down in horse power and options? From what I can tell the sc300 has a cast iron block and is only 100 lbs lighter. What advantage in performance is that. I will let you know how my quest goes.

Because they're ricers and want to go drift with turboz.

Get the SC4, it will suit your needs and wants.
