Drive Thru Carwash = :(
So on my way home last night I stop to get gas and decide to run my lexy through the car wash real quick. When I get home I notice my drivers side headlight looks all hazy. And now this morning it looks the same on the passenger side. Has anyone had this happen to them? Ive opened the headlights to paint them awhile back and have washed the car a lot of times since then without any problem of moisture getting in, including going through drivethru car washes. Whats going on?

Is the hazing on the inside or outside of the lens? If the outside, it is most likely caused by the waxes they use. Was a common problem on my car until I stopped getting 'The Works' at my neighborhood touchless wash (with foaming wax, clearcoat sealant, etc.).

Yeah I was in a pinch and did a drive thru and had the same thing happen despite no condensation from previous washings. I took out the head light and did a quick semi-ghetto mod to allow for more airflow so water would evap quicker. Worked great thus far, still need to test it out with a good washing though.

Good news everyone. Toothpaste and polish did the trick, it was just some hazing on the outside, no inside moisture. I guess they added something to the wash mix like Schwarz said.
BTW it was a touchless wash, no spinning plastic or "brushes" just water jets and soap so my paint is a-ok

are you sure? touchless car wash usually use stronger detergent to clean the car, and may have stripped any kind of protectant from the paint. I'd say you wax it right away

I used to have a customer,Sonny's Enterprises, that said go brushes over touch free. As long as you go to a reputable car wash (does maintenance, replaces brushes, etc...), it's a better wash and safer. Said that the high pressure is more harm then good for the paint. Don't think he was busting my *****, haven't been to a brushless since.
