So sad to see the Soarer retire, I will definately be there for its last run.
2JZ in BMW, that will be a challenge. Just the other day I saw a SR20DET Powered BMW 335 at SuperAuto Bacs, looks like the new fad here in Japan.

Booooo!
It has been said that the Soarer platform isnt the most competent one when it comes to drifting so it is probably better decision for him to abandon the Soarer in favor of something else.
Worst, I don't know about you guys, but I personally think that when you swap engines from other manufacturers its very sacrilegious

drifters change cars all the time. its not that big of a deal. at clubFR and the midwest cup we have a guy that drifted a KA-T s14 last year. switched over to a E36 M3 this year. and going to an ls1 swapped car next year. its all about finding the platform that you like.
marketing is big too. this move brings attention to D1GP and vertex. even if vertex doesnt make a single kit for sale for the E92 the talk of the community will bring them attention.
drifting is not all about going to have some fun. its a business like anything else. the jzz30 chassis is old and like with everything else the only constant is change.
im not sad to see it go. im excited to see new things to come.
the fact that they went with a 2jz is also pretty dumb. its a good motor but they should have taken a modern toyota motor such as the is350 or is-f. motorsports is where all technology develops. if they took a modern motor and developed parts for it then they would be more readily available to the public at a lower cost.
